{News: The Pigeon Result UK Beta version is ready - please email ty@pigeonresult.co.uk to obtain
an advance release. Test drive it today!}
We currently produce three software applications that may be of use to the fancier, club, and federation.
Pigeon Entry 3.0 {Freeware}
Pigeon Entry 3.0 (formerly called Race Entry) has become much more than just the ability to print out blank forms.
You now have the ability to add all your birds to a virtual loft.
Once all the birds are added you need never type or copy-out a bird's ring number ever again.
You can see exactly how many birds you have in your loft, and any birds that are lost are tagged missing.
If a bird is killed then it can be removed from your virtual loft.
You can drag a bird from your loft and drop it into you basket.
When you have entered all the birds into your basket you drag the basket into
the race entry form.
The form is then completed automatically.
Then just press print and you then have your race entry form to hand in at basketing.
The aim of Pigeon Entry 3.0 is to make filling out the race entry form a simpler process.
Pigeon Calculator 1.0 {Shareware fully functional }
How To Calculate Bird Velocity - The algorithm used inside the software.
You can use Pigeon Calculator to calculate the velocity of your racing pigeons.
This is ideal for checking your club result or just for
training purposes.
If you calculate your result by hand
then Pigeon Calculator makes a good double-check procedure.
Pigeon Calculator has two user modes of operation: Simple mode and Advanced mode.
In Simple mode you need only enter the liberation time, bird-in time,
and your mileage/yardage. The simple velocity (of distance
over time) is then calculated.
Pigeon Calculator looks like a very complex piece of software on the surface because it can take
into account the Master Clocks and Member Clocks which then
allows the calculation of net time gain/loss compensation.
Also, Pigeon Calculator has the ability to allow for hours of darkness.
In fact, Pigeon Calculator has everything you would need to produce a full set of results for a club
apart from the speed of correlating every members result into the fastest velocity order. That's where
Pigeon Result comes in.
Pigeon Result 2.0 {Commericalware}
Pigeon Result uses the same calculation engine as Pigeon Calculator but this time as the clocks are being
read you can enter the each members race result.
The results are then stored in a dynamic
linked-list (and automatically to file). Using a Quick sort algorithm the race
result is ordered by fastest velocity order.
Pigeon Result has been built, tested, and improved over the last two racing seasons.
Members race distances, Master Clock details, and the liberation time are entered only once.
As the clock reading process begins only the minimum amount of information is
entered to calculate each result. Once the clock is read it takes on average 30 seconds to enter
the result into Pigeon Result. If you usually read 60 birds then your looking at 30 minutes to get
the final results out.
All the software above is developed for the WIN32 platform and has been tested on Win98SE,
WinME,W2K and XP. You don't need a powerful PC either - Anything PII or above 800x600 screen area
min.
