Pyramid-to-Cylinder development has begun. This software will be made available to the full version users of the Square-To-Round (STOR) free of charge. Anybody needing patterns now please email me. 3D DXF models available to full version users of any Ty Harness product.

Beta Release expected 2008.
Many people have asked me over the last year how do you make a square-to-round out of thick plate. The problem with a folded square-to-round is each bend is different angle and there's a tendency to under bend or over bend. This is a major problem for thick plate as it is very difficult to correct the problem. Also the sharp corners of the square are practically impossible to create for 3 mm thick plate and above - ok you can have a relief hole or quadrant corners but you're then making the flange or lid more complex. One alternative to the square-to-round is the pyramid-to-cylinder where Evans[xx] and Dickason[xx] show exactly how to the develop pyramid using the radial line method and parallel line method for the cylinder.

Figure 3 shows where the pyramid-to-cylinder is far more practical than a square-to-circle because it's heavy plate and would be very difficult to press and with the cylinder being so small in comparison with the pyramid the scalloping of the plate and pipe is relatively simple.
